NEWS ABOUT GRAND MESA DENTAL HYGIENE

Grand Mesa Dental Hygiene and Region 10 Area on Aging have collabrated for the last 10 years providing a much needed service to the low income elderly in Delta, Montrose, Ouray and Gunnison Counties. For many of these people Dental Care is a want but not a need on their fixed incomes. We would like to continue trying to change this by providing complete Dental Evaluations which will include intra/extra oral cancer screenings, complete dental and periodontal charting, also a through preventive dental cleaning along with individualized home care instruction, education and nutrition information.

A Dental Hygiene practice devoted to the care and treatment of children:

​Free Preventive Dental Clinic for uninsured Head Start Pre- School.

Since 2004, a Member of Head Start Board, contracted with Head Start to see all children for screenings (in office, insurance billed and free for uninsured children).

Award presented to Mary Vigil by Delta County Board of Education “In appreciation of the donated, countless hours spent in completing dental concern screenings on the Bela preschool children”

Since 2008/2009, partnering with Co-location Research Project with Pediatric Associates and University of Colorado.

Screenings and revisit to 7 local elementary and pre-school facilities to provide services including: Comprehensive oral evaluations, dental prophylaxis (cleaning), topical fluoride varnishes, oral hygiene instructions, (home care) and preventive sealant placement on permanent molars.

Uninsured children were/are provided these services free of charge.
